Cristian “Junior” Medrano has been a loyal Salsa Grill employee for six years. Junior has been a model employee and such a great asset to our team. Starting in the “dish pit” as a dishwasher he did an excellent job and soon became such a team player that he wanted to learn other positions within the restaurant.
Junior has worked on the line to help our cooks and as a busboy, expeditor and food runner, and is now working towards becoming a server. It’s so refreshing to have an employee that has the ambition to continue to grow and make himself better.
“Junior has developed from this kid who was visibly, nervously trembling in his interview to this outgoing, friendly, hardworking team player that is just a great person to be around,” said Salsa Grill Executive Chef Marco Zapien.
Q&A with Junior:
What do you love most about your job?
Being able to eat here every day that I work. Also, the people. I love just being around our customers and all the people that work here.
What is your favorite company memory?
Our employee outing to the Angel game. We rented party bus and all of the staff went together to the Angel Stadium. It was so much fun!
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
Hanging out with friends, playing video games and watching novelas.
Any advice you could give to someone who would want to work here?
You must give 100% every day. Always be happy, make the customers and other people that work here happy too. It’s this feeling that I have inside and out every time I come to work.
The Salsa Grill staff appreciates Junior and all his hard work. It is rare to find someone who has a passion for whatever job you give them. Junior is that diamond in the rough that just loves coming to work. The motivation he brings to his job is contagious and he is an inspiration to the whole team. Thank you for the Great Job Junior!!
