Chef Marco Zapien of Zapien’s Salsa Grill & Taqueria will be the host of an upcoming cooking demo to help local youth experiencing homelessness.
Chef MZ will demonstrate how to make traditionally prepared Tamales and Champurrado in this special live stream demo in partnership with Sweet Summer on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. PST. Chef MZ will demonstrate two of his delicious tamale recipes: Beef Chile Colorado (Tender chunks of beef braised in a mild California chile sauce) & Pork Chile Verde (Shredded pork shoulder braised in a tomatillo salsa). This cook along event will also include a how-to on making Champurrado, a traditional holiday drink made with Mexican chocolate, cinnamon, and piloncillo.
Proceeds will benefit Covenant House California & BeLove.org as they work to support youth overcoming homelessness in California.
